Lina Sommer is the Foundation Manager of the Günter Thiele Foundation.

She studied comparative Literature, Scandinavian studies, and Political science at the University of Bonn and Linnéuniversitetet in Växjö, Sweden, as well as Literature and Philosophy at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. Additionally, she worked there as a lecturer and research assistant.

She continued her career as Executive Director at an Arts and Media agency in Halifax. Most recently, she worked at Social Impact gGmbH as communications lead for a Europe-wide project to establish national competence centres for social innovation.
