Prof. Dr. Bernd Schuppener

Prof. Dr. Bernd Schuppener is an honorary member of the Board of the Günter-Thiele-Foundation for Communication & Management. He was previously Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for many years. From 2006 to 2022, he was an honorary professor of communication management at the University of Leipzig. He had already been lecturing there since 2001.

He studied philosophy in Frankfurt am Main and journalism, psychology and literature in Mainz. In 1980 he received his doctorate in Mainz. und war anschließend als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter tätig. In 1982, he started at the Second German Television (ZDF) as a consultant for strategic corporate planning for the then director Dieter Stolte. From 1986, Schuppener worked as senior editor for domestic politics at ZDF. In 1990, he joined the PR agency ABC/EUROCOM in Frankfurt am Main as Managing Director. In 1995, he founded the HERING SCHUPPENER Group with offices in Frankfurt am Main, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Berlin.
